My allergy problems have gone away, I've lost 15 lbs so far and I find that I am recovering better after my one hour runs on the treadmill. Making the switch has actually been easier than I ever dreamed possible, at least so far anyway. But onto the fun and exciting news, this week I started taking some film classes at Sault College. They are taught by an awesome instructor named Candice Day who has a ton of experience working in the industry including working for William Shatner. Look her profile up on imdb.com to see some of the films she's been involved in. I've been watching a bunch of documentaries lately and I really enjoy most of the environmental ones out there and thought, hey it would be cool to do one of my own. Of course this is just a pipe dream because I know nothing about how to go about making one of these films. However last week while looking on sootoday to see what's going on in local news I noticed an article about these new film classes being offered at Sault College by a local film director. I thought wow that's convenient, so I signed up and Tuesday and yesterday where the first classes and it’s clear that I am going to have a blast in these classes. Come spring or early summer look for me to be working on my first local environmental documentary. Thanks to Candice who was kind enough to lend me a book on how to make documentaries I've already taken my first steps turning a pipe dream into a reality!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/14214491-4507365094140400580?l=rdwalker.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

The Blog is Back!!!

Happy New Year everyone, one of the best quotes I’ve read recently is “The best way to predict the future is to invent it”. Therefore I’m predicting a very nice year for myself. I almost never do New Year’s resolutions because generally if they are important enough to stick to for an entire year or more then they are too important to wait until the New Year begins to start them. However, this year I’ve made an exception and have made two New Year’s resolutions. The first and biggest change to my life is that I’ve gone Vegan. I thought my love for bacon and cheese would never allow this to happen and I know it’s only been 5 days so far but I’m doing it and enjoying it so far. It’s been actually surprising how easy the transition has been to my new Whole Food Plants Based Diet. I watched a documentary called Forks over Knives and I knew that this was the lifestyle I wanted to have. The second resolution I have for this year is I plan on running at least a half marathon. Back in mid November I bought a book called Run Your Butt Off written by some fine people from the Runners World. After doing some hiking this summer and fall I was forced to come to the realization that I am scarily out of shape, so for the last month and a bit I’ve been hitting the treadmill at GoodLife gym. Basically the book is a guide on slowly taking you from walking to being able to run for at least half an hour straight. I’ve really enjoyed running more than I thought I would and the transition to being able to run for extended periods of time is coming along easier than I thought, so I figured hey, why not push myself and give myself a really good reason to keep this up by trying to do a half marathon. Anyway I have some other good stuff either coming up or I hope will be coming up so I plan on using this Blog to keep friends and family informed on what’s going on in my life and my progress on my New Year’s resolutions. That’s all for now but I will write more soon.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/14214491-2480574704054476625?l=rdwalker.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>
